Thanksgiving/Chirstmas Thankful Idea

At church I heard a fun thing to do for Thanksgiving and Christmas. For the month of November everyday you write what you are thankful for on a strip of Christmas colored paper then you link them together to make a paper chain and use them as a garland for the Christmas tree.
I changed it a little and cut out 24 strips of paper (red, green and blue) for Madelyn and 24 for Hadley. And 24 days before Thanksgiving (November 4th) every night at dinner they each write something they are thankful for(with the help of Mom and Dad). Then by Thanksgiving they will have a chain of 24 links. Starting the 1st of December they can rip one off each day until Christmas Eve and we can talk about what they are thankful for again. I thought this was a great idea on keeping the holiday spirit alive so I thought I would share.

Halloween

I keep meaning to get this up so here is goes. We had a fun Halloween, I think one reason is because the kids where so excited about their customs and they got to go trick or treating for the first time and their cousins from out of town went with them. Hadley loves pirates even though he does not really understand what one is and Madelyn loves Princesses and Pink. The whole time I was sewing her dress she ran around the house singing "Madelyn's a pretty pink princess" over and over again. We have even wore the outfits to the store several times since Halloween. I am just grateful that they liked their customs. Bradley was even a good sport about leaving the mouse hood on.
